Rev. Garo C. Sheats, Sr. was appointed to the pastorate of Spaulding Chapel November 2015. Rev. Sheats studied at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Rev. Sheats accepted his call to ministry in 1995. In 1999 during the Georgia Annual Conference he was ordained a Deacon and 2001 he was ordained an Elder under the Rt. Rev. Joseph Johnson. While in the Georgia Conference Rev. Sheats Pastored Union Temple A.M.E. Zion Church Athens, GA, St. James A.M.E. Zion Church Rome, GA, Smith Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church Monroe, GA, Bethlehem A.M.E. Zion Church Winder, GA and Pleasant Hill A.M.E. Zion Church Jersey, GA. 2012 Rev. Sheats transferred to the Central North Carolina Conference. May 2013 Rev. Sheats was appointed to Taylor's Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church Kittrell, NC and served for 2 1/2 years.
Rev. Sheats is married to the former Tamika L. Ferguson and together have five children Iyanna-12, Jordan-11, Jayson-10, Garo, Jr.-9 and Courtney-8. Rev. Sheats and his family reside in Dunn, NC and is currently employed with Harnett County Schools as a One on One.
